1/ Select a comb material for your Custom harmonica :
Acrylic: A good go-to comb durable with a nice round sound.
Aluminum: Anodized aluminum also available in brushed (matte) finish. Fantastic look and pure sound.
Brass: Very heavy, deeper and rounder tone impressive resonance. Electro-nickel plated finish.
Wood: Maple or Walnut. Light and loud, Organic feel and sound. Add your text on the back (optional) for an even more customized harmonica.

2/ Choose your cover type and material :
Aluminum: Anodized aluminum mix and match your comb color.
New cover design by David Herzhaft with no gaps on the sides for optimum air-tightness, thicker cover material and Wave shape for maximum Projection
Brass: Same as Aluminum but electro-nickel plated. Brass is very heavy compare to aluminum so it's a good way to go if you're looking for a deeper tone, more resonance and something heavier to hold.
Wood: New cover design by David Herzhaft this shape differs from Aluminum and brass covers. No air gap on the sides for maximum air-tightness, fantastic sound and tone. Round shape on the mouthpiece to make it as smooth as possible.

3/ Pick a Reed setup :

Classic harmonica: This is recommended for beginners and intermediate players and for players of all levels who mostly play Folk and Blues. We do a classic manual reed adjustment in our US workshop to optimize the reed response in typical playing situations.

Ultimate harmonica: This setup involves several additional steps of manual reedwork done in our US workshop that makes the harmonica more airtight, more responsive and fully optimized for overblows. This setup is recommended for any style of music : Jazz, Blues, Country, Classical, Folk, Reggae, Funk, Rock … mostly for advanced and pro players who will no doubt enjoy the extra manual individual reed fine tuning.

4/ Select a Tuning : Standard richter (recommended for most uses)

Or one of Harmo special tunings :
Super country Harmo proprietary tuning for Bluegrass, Country and Celtic music
Natural minor tuning (2nd position) : For Blues, Jazz, R&B, Reggae minor melodies.
Harmonic minor (1st position) : For Classical, Tango, Oriental, Jazz, EAstern Europe, Gyspy music.
Paddy Richter (1st position) : For Celtic, Irish music and easy Major scale in the low register
Half Valved : Standard tuning with valves to allow more bends in the low and high register (overblows are not possible because of valves).

5/ Pick a Key : Standard tuning is available in C Db D Eb E F F# G Ab A Bb B and Low F

Other tunings will display available options to choose from.

6/ If you selected a wood comb you also have the option to laser your custom text on the back of the comb.

7/ Review your selection and Add to Cart.

We use the best material and manufacturing process available for our Custom shop harmonicas to offer you the best quality harp and a unique design. Our comb is CNC milled and we use quality phosphore bronze reeds that are loud and very responsive. The covers use a proprietary design created by David Herzhaft . The shape and thickness of the covers is much better than standard harmonicas because our covers allow no air to escape on the side and focus all the sound towards the audience. The specific shape is optimized for better projection and the thickness of the harmonica cover offers a richer tone.

    Best value under the sun
Ralph T. on 01/07/2022Right up there with any of the custom harps I've tried at half the price
    Great harmonica
Ralph T. on 11/10/2021I love the sound of all wood harmonicas, especially in the lower tunings. I have a few wooden Suzukis and now a Harmo. I love them all equally well. Great job, Harmo
The best harmonica I've ever had
    James K. on 09/12/2021

The Harmo Custom shop has been a game-changer for me. I bought a lot of expensive harmonicas in the past most of them weren't worth their price, the Custom shop model I got (all brass) is not only better than my other harmonicas but I feel it's totally underpriced ... will order more soon!

    Wow
Darryl S. on 08/12/2021Got it fast and love the sound and the weight I've got 3 and it's my favorite one!
A Custom Harp...Is it Worth the Price? My Answer.
Charles T. on 07/03/2021After seeing the quality of the Polar 5-key set I knew had to check out Harmo's custom harps. I love a most often use C and G key harps, and these custom harps did not disappoint at all. I have the all-brass versions. Brass CNC machined covers, which are thicker, heavier, and more air tight than other brands. They have machined brass nickel-plated combs. The G key harp has the classic reed setup, and the standard Richter tuning. The brass creates an incredible tone. These custom beauties weigh in at over 6 ounces each. The C key harp has the "Ultimate" tuning and you can actually feel the difference in the vibrations inside your mouth when you play these harps. All experienced players know that much of the sound a harmonica makes actually comes from inside your mouth. and not from the harmonica itself. The harmonica creates those vibrations and your mouth shapes them into the sounds others hear when you play. I'm still a beginner and I instantly could feel the difference in the vibrations in my mouth when I played these custom harps.Looking at the precision machining and the air tight construction is very impressive and lets you know this is a precision musical instrument for the most proficient and demanding pro. BUT when you hold it in your hands for the first time and feel the weight it really commands respect. This is one serious harmonica. Due to its air tight construction it requires less breath to play, which is a good thing because the sound quality is breathtaking. This harp plays like butter. These custom harps are nothing like the mass-produced harps you find in most music stores and online. The aesthetics, the sound quality, the way it feels in your hands...everything about these custom harps screams quality. If you play Hohner, Lee Oskar, Suzuki, Fender, East Top, or any of the other brands, you will be blown away with Harmo harmonicas. If you choose to buy one of their custom harps you will never want to go back to those other brands. Harmo harps bend easier and make over blows easier. I have only been playing for a short period of time, but I have bought and used all the brands I mentioned earlier. My playing has greatly improved since I started using Harmo. They make learning the more difficult techniques easier and my progress has been faster.Harmo harps won't make you more skilled, but they will make it easier for you to learn those difficult skills. With any brand skill is developed only after time putting in the time and practice. Harmo, for me, makes my practice sessions more fun and productive by allowing me to more easily do the more complex techniques. I have now packed away all my Lee Oskar, Hohner, Suzuki, and Fender harps. All nice harps and I have enjoyed playing them, but since I found Harmo, nothing competes with them. I now play Harmo exclusively. I cannot recommend Harmo highly enough, especially their custom harps. Harmo custom harmonicas are the ultimate and have raised the bar in harmonica production.Harmo, please don't be tempted to do as the other brands have done and produce a lower quality harp by using lower quality materials and production methods. Stay the course! You now have the finest harmonicas in the world. Stay the course and the true lovers of the harmonica will find you and when they do, like me, they will instantly become loyal Harmo players.

    Bought it for my toddler
Ruth b. on 06/27/2021I have purchased a total of 2 harmonicas from Harmo & I got them for my spouse whose a veteran and my son who is 2. THEY LOVE THEM!!! & play together. Neither have taken classes but play until their little Hearts are satisfied and it’s brought us as a family a lot of joy. The harmonicas themselves are fabulous! Absolutely beautiful & the wood used smells lovely & their custom names engraved on the wood is perfect! Thank you guys for your attention to detail ????
    Beautiful instrument
Konstantin L. on 06/07/2021Thank you, guys, for my new wonderful harmonica! No doubts, it is the best my instrument for now.

Simply put one of the best harmonicas I have ever played

    Collectable Celestial!
Chip C. on 01/13/2021I already wrote a review, but I got a bot prompt to give one. I don't mind leaving two, I have had more time with the instrument. I don't know what they did to tweak this harp. I only drive the things, I don't know what makes them work. I do a lot of chording, split tongue and like that. Now I'm a jazz musician and medieval troubadour. Lol! Harmo Custom is onto something!
    Beautifully tuned
Chow-Yang L. on 07/11/2020Love the harmonica that I received a few days ago. It is beautifully tuned and the construction is awesome. Thank you.
    Custom harp
    Gary F. on 07/07/2020

I bought the custom harp and love the sound look and quality of sound. I also bought a Harmo Polar which I also like, but they are completely different comb/cover. The Polar is like a a Suzuki Bluesmaster and the Custom is like a Hohner with the combs projecting similar to a Hohner rocket. For some reason I felt they would be like similar. The Custom feels much better is more airtight and you can tell a lot of attention has been paid to details especially on the remarkable reedwork.

Paul S. on 12/26/2019I now have Customs in 7 keys and plan on adding two more to my harmonica case in the near future. These harps are extremely well set up and truly play like a custom instrument.

Best Sounding Harp I've Ever Played
Paul S. on 12/17/2019I decided to try one of these custom harps as I'm a fan of the Polar in all its forms and tunings, and the Torpedo is the easiest bending harp I've come across. I was blown away, literally, by the sound, tone and air-tightness of the Custom. My first was in Bb and after I experienced that first custom, I've bought three more and am about to order two more. I performed with one of the customs for the first time this past weekend and my wife was in the audience. Afterward she asked me if I was playing a new harp because it didn't sound like the harps I usually play. She said it sounded brighter and louder than my other harmonicas, and she's not a musician or musically trained in any way. I'm more than happy with my custom harmonicas. As a side note, I don't play a lot of blues. I primarily play country, bluegrass and gospel so I play mostly melodic harmonica, but I've cross harped on bluegrass songs and it still sounds great. Highly recommended!

Jeff P. on 07/18/2019After trying the Polar and being impressed I wanted to buy myself a good birthday gift :) Oh man ! This walnut comb aluminum covers I built is looking so good ! Plays and fell incredible too, Thank you Harmo !
    Love my Custom harp !
Thomas M. on 07/22/2019I must have spent 3 hours building my first Custom harmonica but I'm so glad I did. Not only does it sound great but it plays and feel incredible. I'm so happy to have my own custom harmonica brought it to the jam the other day and everybody was asking me about it :D Looks so cool !
So many options to build my harmonica !
Mike G. on 07/15/2019I bought two Custom harmonicas that I just received. An aluminum comb with Aluminum covers standard setup and a transparent comb brass covers ultimate setup. Both blew me away ! First they are truly beautiful and you can tell each part is high quality material. The covers are for me the best part they are very thick and sturdy and help focus the sound right out of my harmonica. The brass covers are even more impressive those babies are heavy ! I like both setup but would recommend ultimate to harmonica players who overblow as it makes a big difference overall (louder, faster response ). Having tow of those I also like the fact that I can swap the covers and experiment, it's really neat that you can actually mix and match so many options together.
    Best harmonica all around
Robert B. on 07/05/2019I took an all brass (comb and covers) in C with ultimate setup in C. This harmonica weighs 3-4 times more than my other harmonicas and it sounds insanely good. But the craziest part is how easy I can trigger the overblows and get all my notes loud and clear with such minimum effort. For me it's the best harmonica I have ever had period !
    Unbelievable
Daniel V. on 06/30/2019Got my Harmo Custom Shop harmonica 2 weeks ago. I chose a maple comb and maple covers in standard setup. The sound is so warm and unique I never had any other harmonica like this before. Thank you Harmo for pulling this up !
