These harmonicas allow, as their name suggests, to play the entire chromatic scale on 4 full octaves, and are equipped with a button on the side called a slide that allows you to change the pitch of the notes. They generally range from 12 to 16 holes.
They are more expensive than diatonic harmonicas but give you easy access to all 12 notes without bending. The 10 hole blues harp can be more expressive but is technically more demanding to achieve the same results as a 12 hole chromatic harmonica.
